B suggested coming here because J recommended it. So we showed up in the afternoon on a Saturday and it was not busy at all. I think at night this place is probably super busy. It seems to be a geek or nerd hangout place. They have lots of boardgames that you can pull of the shelves to play with friends. Maybe a great place to meet new friends. When I walked in there was a really weird bad smell. It is really hard to describe. It was like mix of rotten wood or bad perfume alone with bad paint and booze smell. In terms of the food: I ordered the chicken strip only. B got the steak pie and B's mom got the overzelous burger. B said his steak pie was really delicious and that I made a bad choice for not ordering it. My biggest concern was what happens if the crust is not flaky. I tried a bit of his savory pie sauce and it was actually too peppery for me anyways. B's mom said munninn's post uses garden green in the burger. My chicken strips were over-fried and a bit dry. So I am not sure if it was me being overly picky or B and B's mom happened to order the right things. B's mom ordered an Irish Coffee and she said that was not good. B ordered an apple cider and it was really from a can so there is nothing that can go wrong there. I just ordered water. However, they served water in a plastic non transparent cup. I have a pet peeve about non transparent cups or cups in any color other than it being clear. So of course I didn't drink out of the cup. I guess coming here for boardgame with a bunch of friends would be a good idea. But I don't think this place is really a restaurant or a place to just order food. Also I am assuming this place has events here and there. They do have a stage in the corner.
